The state began paying financial aid to the victims of the fire in the Plovdiv village of Otets Paisievo. We remind you that 46 cottage buildings burned completely.
The allocated funds for this settlement alone are about BGN 20,000. The money is part of the BGN 300,000 state aid paid to the families who suffered from natural disasters this summer, writes BNT.
Only 16 households applied and were approved to receive the one-time financial assistance from the state, which is in the amount of BGN 1,578. The money has already been released by the caretaker government. A large part of the owners of the cottage buildings do not meet the conditions for receiving the state aid. Three weeks after the fire that raged through the village for three days, people have not yet begun to clear the charred debris that the fire left behind.
Only the chimney remains of Rangel Zlatanski's two-story villa. The man was among the first to receive the aid of 1,578 BGN. “ 1500 BGN is absolutely for nowhere. An absolute travesty. 1500 BGN nowadays you can do absolutely nothing with them. Just for a clearance. The villa had two floors. We came with my family for the weekends, furnished. In order for the villa to become as it was and as it should be, everything must be rebuilt, rebuilt, says the victim.
In contrast, the Kostadinovi family, whose house was completely burned down, is still waiting for help from the state. The young family has a one-year-old child. They have just completed a major renovation of their house. They put all their savings into it. “By the end of the year, we planned to officially move. We had renovated the entire first floor, absolutely everything. We had brought beds, a stove, a refrigerator. Everything was adapted to live. We will not surrender. it's just great here, because of our daughter - to have a place to grow up," explained Antonia Kostadinova.
A total of 46 buildings in both villa areas were consumed by the fire. Some of the houses were massive. A commission from the municipality of Kaloyanovo went through each affected property and described the damage. Only 16 families have been approved to receive aid. “About 4-5 of them have already received the aid of BGN 1,578. In my conversation, the “Social Assistance“ confirmed that all 16 applicants will be satisfied and receive the lump sum. The payment is according to the declared wish of the victims. It can be to a bank account specified by them or by postal order at the branch that is at the place of residence of the injured family,” said the deputy mayor of Kaloyanovo municipality Susana Nikolova.
2 thousand BGN have so far entered the donation account, which the municipality of Kaloyanovo has opened to support the injured families. There is also a campaign to collect electrical appliances for furnishing. “Building materials, stoves, refrigerators, tables, chairs, we have described everything. Yes, we have already received the first donations, for which we are sincerely grateful. There are good people, kindness exists," added Nikolova.
In Otets Paisievo, the fire destroyed not only cottage buildings and the areas around them, but also covered 20,000 acres in Sredna Gora, mostly coniferous and deciduous plantations. To restore them, it will take years, according to the director of the local forestry. “Where nature does not start natural regeneration, we will go in, intervene and start reforestation with the appropriate tree species for the site. This pine that you see was afforested 40-50-60 years ago, in the future there will be no afforestation with coniferous crops. They are outside the range,”, explained Eng. Dobrin Ivanov, director of the DGS-Hisar.
To this day, the cause of the fire remains unclear.
