New 90 vehicles with increased cross-country ability were received by the departments of the “Road Police” throughout the country. The keys to the new cars, which will be used to control traffic on the roads, were handed over at a ceremony in the Main Directorate of the “National Police” by the Acting Minister of Internal Affairs Kalin Stoyanov.

Unfortunately for all the critics of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, who we all watch with interest as they have been activated in the last few weeks, today we will hand over the keys to 90 cars intended for the needs of the “Traffic Police”, he noted to his colleagues. There will be questions about how there can be technique for some and not for others. There will be for everyone. I will not allow opposition to the structures in the Ministry of the Interior, Minister Stoyanov also noted.

He clarified that the cars are part of a public order for a total of 467 new cars. It is divided into three positions. The first is for 35 high-speed cars that have already been received. The second position is for 200 cars, some of which have also been received. The third is for 227 cars, of which the first 90 have been delivered.

This is another small step in the battle we are waging with road trauma, Minister Kalin Stoyanov also said. He wished all police officers accident-free and responsible driving.

The minister commented that he is happy that today's ceremony is happening on the feast of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Before the handover of the keys to the new cars, a water ceremony was held by representatives of the Bulgarian Orthodox Church. The ceremony was attended by representatives of the political and professional leadership of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
