From today, four of the newly delivered German wagons will be assembled on the fast train from Sofia to Varna, departing from the Central Station at 10:00 a.m. Another four will be included in the fast train departing from Varna to Sofia at 09:25, announced the press center of the “Bulgarian State Railways” (BJD), cited by BTA.
The two compositions with air-conditioned wagons will travel every day and will move on the route Sofia-Plovdiv-Varna and Varna-Plovdiv-Sofia.
BDZ continues the phased commissioning of the newly delivered rolling stock from Deutsche Bahn. After the finalization of the technical inspection and certification procedures, all wagons will be included in the passenger trains in the country, according to BDZ.
Tickets for traveling by train can be purchased at ticket offices in stations, at specialized railway offices and through the online ticketing system, which is available at the email address: https://bileti.bdz.bg/. When purchasing return tickets, travelers can enjoy a 20% discount off the regular ticket price. BDZ put into motion the newly delivered German wagons on August 12. They entered the composition of the high-speed train "Chaika", which travels in the direction Sofia - Burgas - Sofia via the Sub-Balkan railway line. BDZ also introduces digital devices (PDAs) for selling tickets on the trains on the busiest routes Sofia - Burgas - Sofia and Sofia - Varna - Sofia.
