The necessary BGN 120 million for holding the elections on October 27 have been secured through the restructuring of funds. This is clear from the report of the Ministry of Finance for the period of Dimitar Glavchev's first cabinet, BNR reports.
The previous elections cost more than BGN 121 million, and the BGN 120 million announced earlier by the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance Lyudmila Petkova for the vote in October are indicative, says the report published on the ministry's website.
It defines what was achieved from April 9 to August 26 as "progress" and the main achievements relate to the management of public finances, progress towards membership of the Eurozone and the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development, as well as and the work of removing our country from the so-called "grey list" with the parties for money laundering.
There is still work to be done on all of these priorities and there are already meetings planned related to new progress, according to the publication.
It states that in July our country had a deficit of BGN 973 million, which is half a percent of the gross domestic product.
Changes in the capital program, as well as support for farmers, have also been identified as fulfilled priorities.
