Lena Borislavova: We are looking for support for a non-party candidate for prime minister - 1

„In the background of all the splitting that is happening in the political spectrum – not in one or two political forces, in “We continue the change” we think it is extremely important that our democratic community remains united, because only in this way will we be able to be stronger and defend the ideas and principles for which we stand”.

This comments in “Face to face“ Lena Borislavova from “We continue the change”.

„We very well remember what happened in 2017, when the democratic parties failed to unite for one reason or another and the result was that we were left without representation in the parliament,” she also stated, recalling that then “Yes, Bulgaria” and DSB did not unite.

„I deeply believe that “Democratic Bulgaria” – “Yes, Bulgaria” and DSB, which were part of this process and have learned this lesson, will not allow a split to happen now”, pointed out Lena Borislavova.

„We already have an approved draft coalition agreement between the three powers. It has been approved for at least two weeks with all edits by the negotiating team that has been broadcast and of which I am a part. There are some new mechanisms for working together inside to build on the previous problems,”, she commented.

„The coalition agreement stipulates that the arrangement of the lists will be carried out taking into account several objective criteria – contribution of the previous deputies to the activity of the parliamentary group, contribution to local causes, to the activity of the respective party, work on bills, talks with professional communities, explained Lena Borislavova.

She explained that in the coalition agreement there is a formal coalition council consisting of 8 people – four representatives from both sides, and that for the first time the coalition will have two official speakers.

„The ball is in the hands of the colleagues from “Yes, Bulgaria”. They must complete the process for the agreement agreed two weeks ago and pass it through their party bodies, Borislavova pointed out.

According to her, differences are not resolved on television screens and in social networks.

„How can we be in the seventh election in a row, this is completely scandalous,” said Lena Borislavova and added that the coalition agreement has a clear formula for getting out of the political crisis and solving Bulgaria's problems.

She pointed out that “We continue the change” wants the support of the voters before the elections and within the electoral process – whether they approve of the idea of having one candidate for prime minister, who is non-partisan, an equally distant expert, lawyer or economist, who can serve as a bridge in the National Assembly to elect a government.
