Four Bulgarian tourists decided to bathe in the unprotected area, said the mayor of Sinemorets, Kostadin Dikov.
Strong underwater currents pulled a woman. Three men tried to save her. The last remaining lifeguards on the neighboring beach joined the action.
The former concessionaire of the beach, Petar Gogov, was also there, who jumped on a jet and headed in the direction of the drowning people. Three of them were saved, but a man from Sofia drowned.
