A baby died before being born in a private hospital “Eva” in Sliven. The mother claims that before the fatal outcome, she was returned several times by the attending physician, arguing that the baby should grow more. The hospital refused to comment on the case.
The final incident occurred on September 15. The mother is 31 years old. The pregnancy is her fourth in a row, and the baby was full-term.
Unfortunately, the mother's condition worsened yesterday after the C-section. She is currently in hospital, but the family's lawyers are speaking to bTV.
„On September 20, two women and a man came to my office, who were worried. The young woman cried continuously. She tells me that her child was stillborn. Her due date was at the end of August. For two weeks, she went to the hospital regularly, but the doctor who monitored her pregnancy sent her back with the argument that the size of the child was small, explained lawyer Todor Todorov.
The lawyer added that the woman was returned 3-4 times, during which time she was given an injection for the growth of the baby.
However, on September 12, the young woman developed stomach pains and her relatives took her to the hospital urgently at 4 o'clock in the morning. At the hospital, they checked the baby's tones and found that there was an opening and the woman began to give birth. However, it was only on September 16 that the doctors discovered that the baby no longer had tonsils and had to be removed by section on September 17.
„The mother is very worried, as are her relatives. They believe it is a medical malpractice. I am also of the opinion that it is medical negligence. The fatal incident was after a long and regularly monitored pregnancy. The entire pregnancy passed in a calm atmosphere, and the supervising doctor could have sought assistance from a colleague if he had any concerns,”, lawyer Kichukov also pointed out.
It is clear from his words that around 5-6 p.m. the young woman was sitting in the hospital with a dead fetus in her stomach and no one did anything.
The lawyers are adamant that the mother in labor experienced mental trauma because she knew the whole time about the dead child in her womb.
The owner of the hospital “Eva“ flatly refused to comment, being rude to the bTV team, saying he would not deal with this case and hung up.
