Today, October 1, at 10:00 a.m. in the hall of the Rectorate, the academic academic year 2024/2025 will be officially opened of Sofia University (SU) "St. Kliment Ohridski", the press center of the university announced, BTA reported.
"Guests of the academic community will be the Speaker of the National Assembly Raya Nazaryan, the Vice President of the Republic of Bulgaria Iliana Yotova and the Acting Minister of Education and Science, Prof. Galin Tsokov,", SU reports.
Rector Prof. Georgi Valchev will open the academic year with a speech and will introduce the deans of the faculties of Sofia University.
The freshmen, winners of national Olympiads and competitions, and holders of national diplomas for excellent success, will receive their student ID cards from the Rector of Sofia University.
Before the academic celebration in the hall, the rector's leadership and the Academic Council of Sofia University will present flowers to the monuments of donors Evlogi and Hristo Georgievi.
