Comment: Parties must set clear and realistic goals for themselves - 1

"Ultimately, it is reasonable to seek compromises and there is a regular government because there are important tasks that we, as voters, have assigned to them - the budget, the Recovery and Resilience Plan, as well as other important laws related to the structure of the state.

This was stated by the former Speaker of the National Assembly Prof. Borislav Velikov in the studio of the show "The Day ON AIR".

According to the former Minister of Transport Petar Mutafchiev, however, compromises should not be made just for the sake of forming a government.

"There must be a compromise for a clear policy that will lead Bulgaria out of the situation it is in. Compromises for the restoration of statehood, a compromise in the agreements for a new government that will really start the battle with addictions and corruption in the state, to clearly set the goals for the development of the Bulgarian energy industry", Mutafchiev was categorical to Bulgaria ON AIR.

He noted that Bulgaria is at risk of losing significant funds under the Recovery Plan if no agreement is reached on a stable government to ensure the necessary reforms. Mutafchiev believes that the parties should focus on long-term priorities, such as energy independence and economic stability.

"I think it will be easier to form a government if they have realistic goals. What we call an assemblage was, after all, a coalition. "It didn't work that badly," said Prof. Velikov.

Both guests agreed that expert governments that lack political responsibility are not a sustainable solution for Bulgaria.
