The head of state Rumen Radev welcomes the cadets from the specialization " Armed Forces Medical Insurance" from the class of 2024 – "King Simeon the Great" of the Higher Naval School (VVMU) "N. Y. Vaptsarov", who received the first officer rank today at a ceremony in the Military Academy of Arts - Sofia.
"One of the main factors for the motivation and fighting spirit of people fighting at the front is the availability of fast and reliable medical evacuation, as well as effective and adequate medical assistance and its provision in close proximity to combat operations" , the president emphasized.
"No one imagined that seven years ago, when the European security architecture seemed unshakable, a full-scale war would be fought, and thousands of people would die every day," Radev added.
He addressed the graduates saying that today they take on a double responsibility – of a Bulgarian officer and a military doctor.
"You will not just provide medical care, but you will inspire confidence and calmness in the biggest trials," said the head of state.
The President accepted the rank of honor and presented the diploma and epaulettes to the top cadet - officer candidate Melanie Pirgova. At the ceremony, a total of 18 young men were promoted to the rank of "lieutenant".
