Two TIRs collided in Vrachansko. The life of the driver is in danger, the regional directorate of the Ministry of the Interior announced.
The accident happened on road II-13, between Knezha and Byala Slatina. A 41-year-old Turkish driver drove an "Iveko" truck at a high speed for the road conditions. with a semi-trailer "Tirsan" attached, when on a right turn he entered the oncoming traffic and hit another TIR "DAF", driven by a 43-year-old, again a citizen of Turkey.
Ambulances and police arrived at the scene.
As a result of the accident, the 43-year-old man was seriously injured and was transported by specialized vehicle from the Emergency Department of the hospital in Knezha to a medical facility in Pleven and placed in intensive care. Doctors are fighting for his life.
The guilty driver was tested for alcohol and drugs, the samples came out negative.
The road was closed for several hours. The damage is under investigation.
The prosecutor on duty has been notified of the case and pre-trial proceedings have been initiated.
