The official power is extremely comfortable with the status quo. But the main question of this election is: Will the political crisis end and will there be regular power? On this matter, our coalition "Continuing the Change-Democratic Bulgaria" we came up with a plan first. At this point I can see that this is the only realistic plan for realizing regular power. It is not a bluff, it is realistic because we are ready to compromise. In the sense of broadcasting an executive power that will be relatively independent from the legislative one. This was stated by the co-chairman of the PP-DB, Gen. Atanas Atanasov.
„We explained very carefully how a regular power can be made after a majority is found to unite around a highly authoritative person, equidistant from the parties, relatively independent in making his decisions,”, he specified.
According to him, according to the meaning of the Bulgarian Constitution, when an executive power is formed, the National Assembly first elects a prime minister and a government is voted on his proposal.
„The colleagues from GERB-SDS have no plan. What Borisov's former ministers and people from his closest entourage constantly explain, that he should be a candidate for prime minister, is frivolous and will not happen. This is pre-election rhetoric”, Atanasov said and noted that they will not support a first term in the form that GERB-SDS intends to offer them. “They also accept the compromise, which we are also ready for. If there is from both sides, a solution can be found through this realistic plan that we are proposing, he added.
„A mechanism for a common solution must be created and found. Not for anyone to suggest or incite. Why not find some forum of notables from Bulgarian politics to propose a list of authoritative names of people”, the PP-DB co-chairman claims.
Atanas Atanasov outlined the profile of the possible prime minister as “a very erudite Bulgarian diplomat, with a very good name before our partners in the West and a long career could be such a candidate. Also a person who knows international politics very well.
„For example, a person with a rich biography who was at the peak of his career. Some former constitutional judge. There are a few who are very authoritative people. There is a choice, the point is to have a common political will to get out of the political crisis,”, the politician pointed out.
