Despite the order of the Central Election Commission to suspend the changes in the sectional commissions, in Blagoevgrad, where more than 60 percent of the composition of the sections was replaced, requests from the parties for such changes continue to arrive. The refusal may provoke sabotage and many people will not show up at the polling stations tomorrow, the Regional Election Commission predicts, BNR reports.
Mass changes in the sectional commissions in the last two days created chaos in the process of handing over the election papers in the 14 municipalities in the Blagoevgrad region. In many places, the chairmen and secretaries who were supposed to receive the election documentation did not show up at all, the RIC alerted them even before noon. There were also refusals for the people providing the machine voting devices to install them in the sections where there was no presiding officer.
Chairman of RIC-Blagoevgrad Martin Busarov commented on the order of the CEC to suspend shifts:
"A correct decision in view of the situation we found earlier in the day. I'm even late. This should have happened as of yesterday".
Despite the ban, the e-mail of RIC-Blagoevgrad continues to receive proposals from the parties for changes in the sectional committees, admitted Adv. Busarov:
"I predict that tomorrow morning we will witness quite a few sections where members will not appear on purpose".
Is there a real danger in some of the sections that election day will not start?:
"The problem is if the chairmen of the sections and the secretaries do not appear - there will be unopened sections. We'll see tomorrow morning at 7 o'clock."
