„Velichie” stated that he would appeal to the Constitutional Court with a request to cancel the elections. The subject was commented on by the professor of constitutional law Prof. Plamen Kirov in the program “Your Day” on NOVA NEWS. He said that the party has no right to appeal directly to the SC, as the procedure is regulated in the Electoral Code. “Party “Majesty“ can address the subjects with the right of initiative before the SC – these are 48 people's representatives, the president, the Supreme Court, the Supreme Court, the Supreme Court and the chief prosecutor.
Kirov pointed out that the elections are no longer held only with “bought votes”, but with “buying of entire sectional election commissions”.
The lecturer said that raising the threshold for entering the National Assembly is not a matter that can be so easily resolved. And he added that this should happen with a majority vote in the parliament, but such an action would harm small political parties.
Prof. Kirov said the president's deadline to form the 51st National Assembly is one month. And he added that the consultations on forming a cabinet begin after the parliamentary groups are registered.
He also pointed out that the election of the Speaker of the Parliament will probably be accompanied by a political confrontation.
