A year after the disaster in Lvivino, all damaged houses have been restored, but people are still experiencing the horror. The hurricane wind accompanied by torrential rain on November 4 last year caused great material damage in the village of Isperih. The roofs of over 160 houses were blown off, there were collapsed walls and fences, broken glass, doors and windows, fallen chimneys, electric poles and broken wires. However, the people did not give up, with their own strength and with the help of volunteers, donors, the municipality and the state, they repaired the damage from the storm in a short time, the mayor of the village, Gürsel Mustafa, told BTA.

On behalf of the residents of Lavino, he expressed his gratitude to all those who helped those in need during the difficult days for them. “Thanks to the united work of thousands of volunteers and institutions, the damage from the storm was restored in a short time. I thank the employees of the fire department, the police, Energo Pro, social workers, the various institutions, as well as the municipalities from the region and the country, who came to help," the mayor said.

He recalled that a donation campaign was organized to support the victims in Lvivino, and a bank account was opened, which received donations not only from people from the region and the country, but also from people living abroad. For the liquidation of the damages, funds in the amount of BGN 60,000 were allocated by the Municipality of Isperih. The money from the aid voted by the Municipal Council and from the donations was distributed by a public council to the affected households according to the damage caused.

A year after the tragedy, only the old tiles and stones lined up in front of people's houses remind of what happened. The locals don't want to talk about what happened because, according to them, against nature, no matter what we do, sometimes we are just powerless. They hope that one day the nightmare will fade from their memories and never happen again.

According to the mayor Gürsel Mustafa, the victims are already returning to their normal lives, but it will take time for them to fully recover. “With every strong wind, the residents of Lavino tremble with fear and live in tension lest something unseen happen to them again,“, Mustafa noted.
