Bansko once again proved itself as a trademark and for the 12th year in a row it was declared the number 1 ski resort in Bulgaria by the highest authority in the tourism industry in general. The small mountain town deserved the equivalent of the "Oscar" in the cinema, a statuette from the Academy of the World Ski Awards, ranking among the 25 best destinations on the planet.
223 top locations from five continents participated in the 16-week online competition, and around 4.2 million people (customers and professionals) from more than 143 countries voted on the Worldskiawards.com site. This made the survey not just the largest in the industry, but also one of the most global, officially held at all, BTA specified.
Bansko made a total of its 12th golden double in the history of the skiing "Oscars", which is also its second hat-trick in the ranking, after the title of the best hotel in our country went to the glamorous showcase at the “Kempinski Grand Arena”, and in the chalet category again after 2020 and 2023 he rejoices “Diana-Ross”.
The absolute excellence of the resort is also illustrated by the fact that it is among only four places on the planet with a full set of 12 prizes in the 12th editions of the World Ski Awards. The winter center under Mount Todorka with concessionaire “Yulen“ has absolutely dominated the competition since 2013. Only Kitzbühel (Austria), the French Val Thorens, the highest in Europe, which received the grand prize for the planet's number 1 for the 9th time, as well as Deer Valley in the USA, can boast the same recognition.
"We are happy to win this "Oscar" in the field of ski tourism for the 12th time in a row, because this helps the image not only of the city, but also of Bulgaria as a preferred location for a luxurious skiing experience, where the leading is the high quality of the service at an extremely attractive price", comments the marketing director of "Yulen" Ivan Obreykov.
