After the eighth consecutive attempt and failure - the parliament still does not have chairman. Already 20 days have passed since the beginning of the first meeting. Why did the MPs get stuck trying to make a decision?
„The first political force refuses to accept its responsibility – in my opinion, this is the main cause, the rest are consequences. Mr. Bykov in the opening speech said that the analysis shows that there is currently one major political force – GERD, and several medium and small. If this is really the case, it is proper for GERB to take the commitment, but this does not work and we have to make as many maneuvers as possible, said Manol Peykov from PP-DB, quoted by bTV.
And on the question of the exclusion of Daniel Laurer and Yavor Bozhankov from the PG of PP-DB, he explained that the decision does not depend only on “We continue the change”.
„There is no rift, there are different points of view, and in this case they are quite dramatic, since it is about something that is decisive for the future of the country. These are solvable problems, it is important to have conversations. I think that's already dying down and it's become clear that they won't be removed because it's not a decision of the PP”, he said.
Peykov stated that when it comes to the parliamentary group DB and DSB they have categorically decided against this decision.
We remind you that in the parliament “Democratic Bulgaria” first they supported the vote were Silvi Kirilov during the seventh attempt to elect the Speaker of the National Assembly, and then they backed down.
„We stated that we were doing this to show good will, but after it became clear that our votes were not enough and there was no majority, we did not support the second time. We expect the BSP colleagues to sign the declaration of “sanitary cordon“ and we think this is the most workable option“, he explained.
„We can support Nataliya Kiselova if that happens. The issue was with the Silvi Kirilov option, only things developed in a slightly different way. The difference is that Natalia Kiselova is a political decision. When there is a political solution, there must be a political conversation – there was no such thing”, continued Peykov.
He defined the actions of GERB as passive.
„In previous parliaments, negotiations were held literally from the end of the elections. They didn't hold any negotiations, until the end they insisted on their candidate - Raya Nazaryan, only Boyko Borisov as prime minister," he clarified.
