We will not re-nominate Raya Nazaryan as Speaker of the People's assembly. This is what GERB leader Boyko Borisov told journalists in the parliament, Novini.bg reported.
In response to a question whether GERB - SDS have a decision on how to act at today's meeting of the National Assembly, he stated: "We have. We took it last week after a meeting with the BSP - we voted twice for Mrs. Kiselova. We are a consistent party".
I gave up everything in the world for days - I gave up on Nazaryan, I gave up on me, I offered all options, he added.
When asked why GERB - SDS will vote for Kiselova, Borisov noted: "Because I have decided so, I am not obliged to explain.
In response to a question about why yesterday he allowed the opportunity for the coalition to re-nominate Raya Nazaryan, and today this no longer applies, the leader of GERB commented: "Yesterday I met with over 1,200 people from GERB, who ask me the question of why, after they have won so decisively, I give up on people so easily, but last week it was the only possible way to untie this knot. Then "Democratic Bulgaria" did not enter the hall, "We continue the change, they voted with "Revival" and Dogan, the BSP colleagues came with a 10-person delegation, they asked for support and since we owe them support from the time of Vezhdi Rashidov, I spoke with the party, they supported it and today we stand by our word. What's new? I had a lot of conversations with Atanasov, with Mirchev, with Bojanov and I explained to them - let's sit down, ask for a break, we are signing a coalition agreement between "We continue the change - Democratic Bulgaria" and GERB and then we choose Atanasov. I gave up being prime minister to please them as well, and they keep talking about theirs. Therefore, we remain in the position of a week ago.
In his words, it is absurd without talks about a regular government to support Atanas Atanasov as Speaker of the Parliament.
He proposed that the consultations with the president to form a regular government begin without having an elected speaker of the parliament.
