They are setting up checkpoints and joint inspections of the police and the Agency on food safety in the Velingrad region, NOVA reported.
The measures are in an attempt to close the outbreak of sheep plague in the area. The goal is to prevent the spread of the disease in other regions of the country. According to the Agency, the results of the second sample sent to the reference laboratory of the European Union in Montpellier are still awaited.
The Ministry of Agriculture announced that animals from the farm in Velingrad will not be killed. The farm remains under quarantine, temporary measures are being introduced to restrict the movement of small ruminants from and to the Pazardzhik region.
