First of all, congratulations! The National Assembly has a worthy chairman. Thus, the former Speaker of the National Assembly, Mihail Mikov, commented in the program “Without Pretensions” on Darik radio the election of Assoc. Natalia Kiselova for Speaker of the Parliament.
“Fragmentation in political life is not from yesterday. It has been going on for quite some time. This process is observed not only in Bulgaria and it becomes more and more difficult when politics disappears from party clashes, such situations occur as the impossibility of electing a speaker for the National Assembly and being happy when there is a speaker, Mikov said.
He explained that now the 51st National Assembly has to solve the “difficult problems” before the country, which must receive a legislative response. On the occasion of the PP-DB's request for support for the declaration of a “sanitary cordon” around DPS leader Delyan Peevski, Mikov stated:
“No declaration can replace actual work – the answer to those problems that I have already mentioned: how the Bulgarian will live, what will happen to incomes, what will happen to prices, to electricity prices in 2025, because these are objective processes and they are outside of political attitudes, intentions, declarations and sanitary cordons etc.”
According to the former head of the parliament, it is time for these problems to enter the agenda of the deputies, and not personal confrontations.
Mikov is adamant that the main work of the BSP is not with whom it will seek alliances, because the BSP is too weakly represented in the parliament.
Asked if he sees worrying signs in the BSP's behavior in the plenary hall, Mikov said: “Inconstancy. I personally think that the BSP should have much more clearly stated its distinction from other parties that claim to be right-wing”.
On the collegiality between the managements of GERB and BSP regarding the support for Assoc. Kiselova and their indications, Mikhail Mikov said:
“It's okay. This cannot be judged. It is not bad that there is such an agreement for the personal voting, for the establishment of the National Assembly, for the election of the chairman. Even with GERB, even with other political forces. There's nothing wrong with that. ”
