"What happened today has nothing to do with future government or majority. BSP saves the Bulgarian National Assembly for the second time, stated in Panorama. MEP Christian Vigenin.
"If it was only because of the BSP, we would not have insisted so much, but it was obvious to us that in order for this National Assembly to work, a person like Nataliya Kiselova should be at the helm.
He also congratulated the BSP group, despite the criticism, including from himself. Defined as exaggerated and fabricated the claim that someone can tell the party what to do:
"The BSP carefully evaluates its moves and steps, and despite all suggestions, every single representative from the party has signed the PP-DB declaration.
The process of selecting the Attorney General is flawed and should be stopped, not the issue in the candidate.
It is ridiculous to say that Kiselova has any addictions to Peevski - her biography is public, said Vigenin. In his words, "there is no doubt that the isolation of Peevski from power is vital for Bulgaria".
It is possible to emerge from the political crisis with a non-party government in which there are no prominent political figures.
"We have no place for Prime Minister Boyko Borisov, for example, and he must be supported on the basis of a very clear program. If we are talking about a coalition, I don't see the place of the Bulgarian left in such an assembly".
When asked why part of the group of European socialists in the EP voted against Ursula von der Leyen's new commission, Christian Vigenin explained that they do not believe that the president of the EC will fulfill her commitments to them.
"She bypassed our joint decisions several times. Second - we do not have faith in the EPP in the European Parliament, and this will be a problem in the Bulgarian Parliament as well. On the one hand, when it's convenient for them, they vote with us, and when it's not convenient for them, they vote with the extreme right and play with the majorities.
