The National Assembly will hear the acting Minister of Energy Vladimir Malinov on the construction and commissioning of the construction project “Expansion of the capacity of the “UGS Chiren“ – drilling fund“ and the impact of the investigation launched by the European Prosecutor's Office on the deadlines for completing the gas storage facility expansion project.

This is provided for by the first point of the National Assembly's work program, published on the institution's website. The petitioners for the hearing are Kiril Petkov and a group of MPs from “Continuing the change – Democratic Bulgaria“ (PP-DB), BTA specified.

In August, an inspection was carried out in the building of "Bulgartransgaz" by officers of the General Directorate "National Police" and the European Prosecutor's Office in connection with the expansion of the underground gas storage facility in Chiren. At that time, the acting Minister of Energy Vladimir Malinov stated that full cooperation would be provided to the judicial authorities of Bulgaria and the European Union in order to establish the objective truth.

The parliament's program also provides for the deputies to hear the acting Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance Lyudmila Petkova, as well as ministers Violeta Koritarova-Kasabova, Petar Dimitrov, Vladimir Malinov, Petko Nikolov and Georgi Tahov on the problems with water shortages in the country and the measures taken by the government to overcome the water crisis in the short and long term. The request was submitted by Kostadin Kostadinov and a group of MPs from “Vazrazhdane“.

At the proposal of the PP-DB, yesterday the MPs established a temporary commission to establish all the facts and circumstances regarding the problems with water shortages in the country. On the agenda is a hearing of Minister Vladimir Malinov regarding the expected increase in the price of electricity on the regulated market.
