The leader of the "Vazrazhdane" party, Kostadin Kostadinov, wants a meeting with the Prime Minister on the topic of refunding the money for in vitro procedures.
"On Monday, the government decided to cut the budget for financing in vitro procedures by 2 million leva, which it will provide for agricultural subsidies. At a time of a monstrous demographic catastrophe that is literally eating away at our nation, such a decision is nothing more, nothing less than an act of treason. Not to mention that an attempt has been made to pit some Bulgarians against other Bulgarians - families with reproductive problems against farmers. And all this is being done in the name of Bulgaria's entry into the eurozone," Kostadinov commented on his Facebook profile.
In his words, these 2 million leva could help bring several hundred Bulgarian children into the world - "desired and long-suffering children of the Bulgarian people." "I will request a meeting with the Prime Minister on Tuesday and demand that this criminal decision be overturned," he also announced.
