As the chairman of "Izprav se.BG", both I and my organization have a very clear position and behavior against the one-man model. The protests of 2020, the people simply did not want a government with Boyko Borisov and Delyan Peevski, still there must be politicians who keep their word. This was commented by the chairman of "Izprav se.BG" Maya Manolova on "Denyat ON AIR".
According to her, a coalition agreement of "BSP-United Left" with GERB will be a heavy blow to the left-wing unity.
"A coalition agreement, bright political figures in such a government - this will be disastrous for the left in Bulgaria. We also saw how the BSP came out after the government with the right, when Kornelia Ninova was deputy prime minister. There are enough right-wing parties in parliament that their votes are enough to form a government. It would be good for Bulgaria and the citizens to have a strong opposition that protects the interests of the people," Manolova told Bulgaria ON AIR.
The chairman of "Izprav se.BG" is of the opinion that a moratorium on the price of electricity should have been voted on before the New Year.
"I was at the public discussion of the price of electricity at the meeting of the Energy Regulatory Commission. MPs and other politicians were not present there. In fact, they never are. The decision of the EWRC to increase the price of electricity is absolutely unfounded. My team and I wrote a draft decision to impose a moratorium with motives, justifications, calculations. We submitted it on December 19. Nothing prevented, despite the deputies' vacation, from taking up the consideration of this issue on December 20. Now what we see - the longer you are without electricity, the higher its price, the longer you are without water - the more KEVR increases it, this is absurd", she is categorical and called on the SGP to protest the KEVR's decision.
The Energy and Water Regulatory Commission makes decisions that concern all Bulgarian households, but no household can attack this decision, Manolova emphasized.
"This decision by KEVR is illegal, it is not motivated, the deadlines have not been met, the objections of citizens have not been reflected," added the chairman of "Izpra se.BG".
"The VAT on bread has increased due to negligence. There has been an increase in the price of bread in a number of areas by 30%. For people living in extreme poverty, and there are nearly 1 million of them. Bulgarians, this is of great importance. Bread was at a low price level, now it is 30% higher. There must be political will. I hope that the deputies in the parliament will not disappoint the Bulgarian citizens once again. They must keep their word," concluded Manolova.
