The 66-year-old man who was seriously injured in the explosion of a gas cylinder in a house in the capital's "Lozenets" district is the famous composer Alexander Saveliev. This was confirmed by the musician's neighbors, who minutes after the explosion wrote on social networks that the incident occurred in his home, dir.bg reported.
The signal for the explosion, which occurred in the house at 17 "Korab Planina" Street, where the musician's studio is also located, was given to 112 at around 6:40 p.m. Police and fire brigade teams were immediately dispatched to the scene, and the ambulance arrived within 3 minutes.
The "Pirogov" hospital specified that the victim is in very serious condition, with extensive and deep burns, as well as burns to the upper respiratory tract. He has been admitted to the intensive care unit, and in the coming days, when his condition allows, he will undergo surgery.
The area at the scene of the incident has been cordoned off. As a result of the explosion, glass was scattered several meters away from the house in which the gas cylinder ignited. The window frames of the building were broken and flew several meters away.
Alexander Saveliev was born on July 25, 1958 in Sofia. He graduated from the conservatory with a degree in flute. He is the author of a total of over 800 songs and over 1,500 arrangements. The composer has worked with some of the biggest pop music stars in the country: Emil Dimitrov, Kristina Dimitrova, Orlin Goranov, Vasil Petrov, Neli Rangelova, Petya Buyuklieva and Georgi Stanchev.
