The conditions for winter tourism in the mountains and our mountain resorts are good. This was reported to BTA by the Mountain Rescue Service (MSS) of the Bulgarian Red Cross (BRC).
The clouds are broken, the weather is cool with temperatures from minus 5 to minus 10 degrees. In the highest parts of the Stara Planina, the wind is strong, the MSS warns.
The snow cover in the high parts of the mountain is large - over 100 - 140 centimeters. Mountain rescuers advise people to use only winter routes. The avalanche danger is high.
According to the weather forecast of the National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology, it will be mostly sunny in the mountains. There will be a moderate wind, in the higher and open parts - temporarily strong wind from the west-northwest. The maximum temperature at an altitude of 1200 meters will be about 4°, at 2000 meters - about minus 2°.
