Government negotiations are resuming. This became clear unofficially on the sidelines of the National Assembly, bTV reported.
The negotiations involve GERB-SDF, “Democratic Bulgaria“, “BSP-United Left“ and “There is such a people“.
Intensive negotiations are expected to take place in the next two days. Most likely, it will become clear on Friday whether there will be a majority for a regular cabinet.
On Sunday, GERB-SDF announced that they were terminating government negotiations, since no agreement had been reached on the personal composition of the future cabinet and the name of the candidate for Prime Minister.
After the refusal of “Democratic Bulgaria“ to support the first nomination of GERB – UDF in the person of Boyko Borisov for Prime Minister, GERB – UDF nominated Rosen Zhelyazkov. Today from “Democratic Bulgaria“ they also rejected the second nomination, pointed out GERB and explained that as a result they are terminating the negotiations.
From DB they were surprised and announced that they learned the news from the media. At this stage, the agreement for joint governance is not complete, although it is at a very advanced stage, the party wrote.
They pointed out that for them, the issue of the personality of the prime minister and the personal composition of the government has always been subject to a completed agreement and the holding of a leadership meeting.
“This position was explicitly confirmed once again by us at today's meeting, as well as our position for a non-partisan, mutually acceptable figure for the prime minister“, the DB added.
