Nidal Algafari: The DB treats the PP as a "spare tire" - 1

Will the talks on governance continue and will the parties unite around a consensus figure for prime minister? In the studio of “Hello, Bulgaria” on Nova TV, PR expert Nidal Algafari and journalist Petyo Tsekov discussed the topic.

“In my opinion, things are heading towards forming a government. I did not imagine that they would publicly discuss the figure of a prime minister, because after that, the choice of regional governors, members of regulatory bodies remains”, said Algafari. He expects the talks to continue in a non-public format.

According to Tsekov, the proposal for Rosen Zhelyazkov to be prime minister is also acceptable to the DB. "It is a matter of interpretation who stopped the negotiations to form a cabinet," he said, adding that there is a "cordon sanitaire" around "Vazrazhdane." He assumes that if in major European countries - France, the Netherlands, Germany and Austria, nationalists continue to approach the government, it is possible that in the future "Vazrazhdane" will become an insurmountable factor in Bulgaria as well.

According to the journalist, if only a program government with a short term of validity is formed, the participants in this cabinet will suffer permanent negative consequences.

"Radev is not an alternative to anything now, but perhaps in the future he will be. Borisov, in addition to tactics, is also a strategist - he managed to drive a wedge between the DB and the PP, and in the event of possible elections now, the result of the DB will be different," said Algafari. According to him, the DB treats the PP as a “spare tire” - if the negotiations with GERB fail, the DB will return to the PP”, explained Algaffari.

The two also discussed the figure of the Prosecutor General and the composition of the Supreme Judicial Council.
