Martin Dimitrov: The fact that prices will rise after we enter the eurozone is nonsense - 1

„We are fully ready to enter the eurozone. Bulgaria already meets the criteria. Next is to make some diplomatic efforts with the EC and submit an extraordinary convergence report”, commented on the air of the program „Your Day” on NOVA NEWS, the MP from „Democratic Bulgaria” Martin Dimitrov.

According to him, exceptional growth of the economy and incomes is observed in Croatia. „The fact that the prices of goods and services will increase after we enter the eurozone are nonsense”, added Dimitrov.

„The euro is one of the most stable currencies in the world. When a country has a stable currency, this leads to a decrease in interest rates, to more investments, business, trade. Entering the eurozone will make the Bulgarian economy more component”, he explained.

According to Dimitrov, the current government will increase taxes in the country. “One of the ideas being discussed by the “Zhelyazkov” cabinet is to increase the VAT rate from 20% to 25%. This would be detrimental to the Bulgarian economy”, the MP pointed out.

”Either spending cuts will begin, or the ruling majority will increase taxes in the country. At the moment, we have no supporters for spending cuts”, Dimitrov added.
