„Apparently some of them regret not having participated, and are now wondering how and in what way to enter as a fifth wheel or spare tire for the ruling majority of the four-way coalition of GERB, Dogan's MRF, ITN and BSP“, said Kostadinov.
He pointed out that yesterday they witnessed quite symptomatic votes. When the committees in parliament were voted on, the PP-DB voted the entire time together with the ruling party, which we decided might be because they also have their own representatives inside, noted Kostadinov. However, today we saw two significant votes - one vote was on Peevski's proposal to drop the item for a decision to establish a committee to establish the extent of American influence in Bulgaria, the other - on the proposal of the ruling majority to increase the maximum deadline for proposals for changes to the Electoral Code to 28 days. Both proposals were voted on almost completely uncritically by the PP-DB, because when we requested a re-vote, two people from the PP-DB voted against and four abstained, but the remaining 22 voted “for“, said Kostadin Kostadinov.
The leader of “Vazrazhdane“ commented that the important votes for the regulators, the Supreme Judicial Council and many others are still to come, in which the ruling majority will need a few more votes to reach the number of 160. It is obvious that the PP-DB is currently negotiating and trading their votes and accordingly expects to be rewarded in some way with positions either in the executive branch or in those regulators, for which we still know that negotiations will be held, he believes.
When asked about the chairmanship in a standing committee ceded by “Ima takvi narod“ to “Vazrazhdane“, Kostadin Kostadinov commented that the ITN ultimately listened to the words of the ITN from 2022, 2023 and 2024.
