Lena Borislavova: I will vote against the lifting of the immunities requested by Sarafov - 1

"I will vote against the lifting of the immunities requested by Sarafov, as long as he continues to head the Bulgarian prosecutor's office (for a few more months)", Lena Borislavova, a PP-DB MP, announced on Facebook.

"As long as there is no request to lift Peevski's immunity, as long as Vladi Goranov, also sanctioned under the Magnitsky Act for corruption on a particularly large scale, is touring the television studios, as long as CorpBank is simply an “unpleasant incident” for which no one will be held responsible, we cannot have confidence that Bulgaria is a state governed by the rule of law, as stated in Article 4 of the Bulgarian Constitution.

The Rules of Procedure of the National Assembly allow MPs to waive the protection provided by immunity - as a personal decision. If the MP does not want to resign, then the vote is held in the hall. "And voters must assess whether this is about repression and prosecutorial pressure in favor of political goals or an objective and comprehensive investigation by an independent prosecutor's office based on internal conviction," Borislavova also wrote in her post on the social network.
