Andrey Valchev, BSP: The country is not yet ready to enter the eurozone - 1

Bulgaria is not yet ready to enter the eurozone. This was stated in the studio of “Hello, Bulgaria” by the BSP MP Andrey Valchev. According to him, citizens should not pay the bill for something to be done for its own sake.
“A request for a convergence report will be sent when all objective data is ready. I call on the Ministry of Finance to conduct the long-awaited information campaign. No one disputes the benefits of introducing the euro, he explained.
According to him, the state of public finances and the data presented by Minister Petkova are more than alarming.

„They show that indeed in the last few years financial discipline has been something of a wishful thinking. The participation of the BSP in this joint management is starting to show its first results. We do not agree that Bulgarian citizens will once again foot the bill. There are huge reserves in the control functions that the state and the revenue administration exercise”, added Valchev.
Regarding salaries in the Ministry of Interior, he stated that they should be increased, but reforms are also necessary.

„There are not isolated cases when you are both a pensioner and a worker and receive a salary. You are either one or the other”, the MP believes.
