Now is the time for organization regarding the natural processes of spring snowmelt. I want the competent ministries to take a very serious approach to prevention of potential risks related to floods and landslides, which inevitably occur every spring. This was stated by Prime Minister Rosen Zhelyazkov at the beginning of today's government meeting, reported by BTA.

„I assign full coordination to the Ministry of Environment and Water, the Ministry of Energy, the Ministry of Economy, the Ministry of Agriculture and Food, in contact with the regional governors and mayors of municipalities“, Zhelyazkov pointed out.

„To review the status of the regional and municipal crisis headquarters, to inspect the riverbeds, to see the level of the dams, the status of irrigation systems and ravines“, he also said.

Regarding the Interdepartmental Commission for Recovery and Assistance to the Council of Ministers, the Prime Minister indicated that it is necessary to ease the administrative regimes as much as possible when there is a need for assistance.

“Review what is happening with illegal logging, because a large part of the signals are related to deforestation due to illegal logging. Prevention is very important“, the Prime Minister also noted to the cabinet ministers. Zhelyazkov pointed out that the funds for prevention are less than the money for repairing the damage in the event of a possible disaster.

Prime Minister Rosen Zhelyazkov requested that the information on the assigned inspections be collected within a week and indicated that there will be a contact point in the Council of Ministers that will work 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
