I expect the people involved in the investigation of the tragedy to tell the whole truth to the public. Some things, as it were, still remain hidden. This was said in the show "Face to Face" on bTV by the owner of "Overgas" Sasho Donchev in connection with the explosion in Bankya last week, in which half of a semi-detached house collapsed and at least one woman died.
"The least likely version was launched - that this explosion was caused by natural gas. In my opinion, there are at least 2-3 versions that are more likely, but this will certainly become clear. "As soon as I saw the footage, it was clear to me that this could not have happened from natural gas," Donchev said.
According to him, the pressure in the gas installation is 300 times less than the pressure in a regular gas lighter.
An explosion can occur when the gas is at least 8% of the total volume of air in the house. These people have been heating themselves with electricity for the last 2 years. An average family, a user of "Overgas", consumes about 1,000 cubic meters of gas per year, and this household has 12 cubic meters for the entire year of 2024. For the entire month of January, it consumed 4 cubic meters. I can categorically say that natural gas is not the cause of this tragedy. I hope the investigating authorities will clarify the case, but so far we have not heard any other versions, the owner of "Overgas" said.
"The installation fully complies with the requirements of the standard. My responsibility is up to the fence, up to their property. Some time ago, we had made a proposal to take over the technical maintenance and supervision of the installation, but the State Agency for Metrological and Technical Supervision and the KEVR replied that this is not our job, but the owner's responsibility. We are trying to inform the owner. The use of natural gas is not at all dangerous, but the installation must be properly operated and maintained," commented Sasho Donchev.
"We will continue to insist that all regulations concerning the discussed issue be changed and that specific responsibility for these installations be assigned to a specific person. "We, the gas companies, declare our readiness to assume this responsibility," Donchev added.
