Dozens of musicians and residents of the capital's "Lagera" neighborhood gathered in protest in front of the "Balkanton" building, BTA reported.
Musicians and residents of the neighborhood are unhappy with the intention of the owner of the emblematic building to demolish it.
The protest began at 7:00 p.m. last night in front of the "Balkanton" building and was supported by the "Lagera" Association, the mayor of the "Krasno Selo" district Tsveta Nikolaeva and advisors from the Sofia Municipal Council (SOC).
On Tuesday, the mayor of Sofia Municipality Vasil Terziev said that he would familiarize himself with the “Balkanton“ case and check whether it is possible to withdraw the permit for the demolition of the building. The company announced that the “Balkanton“ building will not be demolished.
The protest last night was also attended by Ivaylo Dzhenev - a representative of the investor company, who also confirmed that the company has no intention of demolishing the building.
However, civil society is protesting because people no longer believe in words, but in deeds, the chairman of the “Lagera“ Association, Lyubomir Petrov, told BTA.
