More expensive! New increase in prices of basic food commodities on the stock exchanges during the week  - 1

A slight increase in prices of most basic food commodities on the stock exchanges in our country over the past week, according to data from the State Commission for Commodity Exchanges and Markets (SCCBM), published in its weekly bulletin.

Most fruits and some of the vegetables whose prices the State Commission for Commodity Exchanges and Markets monitors are increasing in price.

The market price index (MPI), which reflects the movement of wholesale food prices in Bulgaria, increased by 0.53 percent to 2.266 points during the week. Last week, the MPI was at a level of 2.254 points. The base level of the ITC - 1,000 points, is from 2005.

Type 500 flour increased in price by 6.4 percent to 1.57 leva per kilogram. Sugar is up by 3 percent to 1.96 leva per kilogram. The price of rice is up by 2.1 percent to 3.45 leva per kilogram, of ripe beans - by 1.6 percent and is 4.44 leva per kilogram, of lentils - by 0.5 percent, and it is traded at 4.35 leva per kilogram.

The price of cow's cheese increases by 1.2 percent to 11.75 leva per kilogram, and of "Vitosha" type yellow cheese - by 0.2 percent to 17.69 leva per kilogram.

Yogurt (3 and over 3 percent fat content) is up by 0.4 percent and is purchased at 1.37 leva per 400 g bucket, and fresh milk (3 percent fat content) is down by 0.7 percent to 2.40 leva per liter.

The price of chicken meat remains unchanged at 6.37 leva per kilogram, and eggs (size M) are cheaper by 0.6 percent to 0.34 leva per piece wholesale.

Oil is up by 1.9 percent to 3.31 leva per liter, and butter (125 gram package) - by 2 percent to 3.12 leva per piece.

With fruits, the most Lemons are up 7.9 percent. They are traded at 2.39 leva per kilogram, followed by apples, which are up 5.2 percent to 1.85 leva per kilogram.

Tangerines and bananas are up slightly - by 0.3 percent and 0.9 percent to 2.54 leva per kilogram and 2.73 leva per kilogram. Grapefruits and oranges are cheaper - by 4.7 percent and 0.4 percent to 2.50 leva per kilogram and 2.07 leva per kilogram.

Among vegetables, the largest increase is in ripe onions, which jump by 19.5 percent to 1.40 leva per kilogram, as well as in cabbage, which increases by 9.5 percent to 1.50 leva per kilogram.

Carrots are also increasing - by 4 percent to 1.30 leva per kilogram. The biggest drop is in the price of tomatoes - by 7.5 percent to 3.21 leva per kilogram.

Cucumbers are cheaper by 3 percent and are offered at 3.48 leva per kilogram.

The price of potatoes is also down - by 2.3 percent to 1.30 leva per kilogram.

Green lettuce is also cheaper - by 3.2 percent to 1.21 leva per piece. Ripe garlic is down 0.8 percent to 6.02 leva per kilogram.
