A working group on naming is proposing a new draft decision on the naming of the stations of the metro extension, which is currently being built, the press center of the Sofia Municipal Council reports.
For the sections of the M3 line - from „Shipka“ Str. through the Slatina area to Tsarigradsko Shosse, work has begun on preparing the train movement systems and for this reason it is necessary to set the names of the metro stations that they will serve, indicated "Nova Televizia".
The names proposed by the working group for the newly built stations of the M3 line are „Georgi Asparuhov Stadium“, „Vitinya“ and „Gen. Vladimir Vazov“.
The following names have been proposed for the line that will serve the Slatina region: „Sitnyakovo“, „Geo Milev“, „Slatina“, „Shipchenski prohod“, „Arena Sofia“ and „District Hospital“.
The metro station under construction in the Moderno Predgradie district will be named „Pancho Vladigerov“, and the planned two metro stops on line M1 in Lyulin – „Tsaritsa Yoanna“ and „Dobrinova Skala“.
The municipal councilors will also vote on the proposed renamings of existing metro stations:
• Metro station „Mizia/New Bulgarian University“ to be just „Mizia“.
• Metro station „Bul. Tsar Boris III/Krasno selo“ on „Tsar Boris III“.
• Metro station „Bul. Bulgaria“ on „Bulgaria“.
A final decision on the names of the metro stations will be made on Thursday at the meeting of the Sofia Municipal Council.
