The Ministers of Finance and Agriculture will answer questions from MPs on Friday regarding the creation of a state-owned chain of grocery stores that would sell with a maximum markup of up to 10%.
The proposal was made by "DPS-New Beginning", based on the idea of Delyan Peevski and submitted by Yordan Tsonev. It is also the only opposition proposal that found a place in the 2025 budget.
The company that owns the stores will have an initial capital of 10 million leva and will be under the management of the Ministry of Agriculture. Initially, the leader of "DPS-New Beginning" talked about the fact that the shops could be housed in the branches of "Bulgarian Posts", but the texts of the posts do not mention them.
"DPS - New Beginning" proposes the creation of state-owned shops in which only Bulgarian goods would be sold.
