The F-16 fighter jet case enters the parliamentary oversight committee.
Today, deputies are expected to hear from Defense Minister Atanas Zapryanov, the director of the "Military Intelligence" Service, on the topic. Brigadier General Venelin Venev and the Chairman of the National Security Agency Plamen Tonchev.
They must provide information to the members of parliament regarding possible unregulated access by a force hostile to Bulgaria to classified information related to one of the systems of the F-16 fighter jet and possible sabotage against the official acceptance of the fighter jet by the Bulgarian Air Force.
The topic caused a new absentee dispute between President Rumen Radev and GERB leader Boyko Borisov.
Reactions also followed from some of the parties in parliament. According to "There is such a people" the case should be left to the experts.
"Vazrazhdane" called for an investigation into the entire process of acquiring the aircraft. The PP-DB stated that the scandal is being used for political purposes by Borisov and Radev.
