The National Assembly re-elected the current Chairman of the National Bureau for Control of Special Intelligence Means Plamen Ivanov, nominated for the post by "There is such a people". He was elected with 120 votes "for", 84 - "against" and 7 - "abstains".
The Deputy Chairman was Georgi Hristov, nominated by GERB-SDF, with 115 votes "for", 76 - "against", 10 - "abstains".
The deputies rejected the proposals of "Continuing Change-Democratic Bulgaria" Tanya Petrova and Iliya Antonov for members. Voted for members of the bureau were Angel Kurtishev, Borislav Tsvetanov, Plamen Ivanov, Yasen Slavov.
→ In order to be elected chairman, more than half of the present members of parliament must vote for him. The procedural rules were adopted on February 19, when the procedure for electing a new composition of the Bureau was opened, since the mandate of the old leadership expired in 2023.
The newly elected members and leadership of the National Bureau for Control over Special Intelligence Services took the oath before the 51st National Assembly.
