"It will be difficult to accept unpopular measures such as raising the retirement age. Unstable political majorities can hardly accept strategic long-term decisions. Hasan Ademov: Mayors are switching from DPS-DPS to "DPS-New Beginning" because of pressure and the lawsuits they are being intimidated with - 1

Today in parliament, once again, the main issue of the pension reform was replaced by that of the parliamentary immunities of six people - two from DPS-DPS, four from "Vazrazhdane". MP from the PG of DPS-DPS Hasan Ademov stated in "Osche ut dgen" that his colleagues have no qualms about giving up their immunities. Their only concern is that in Bulgaria the justice system is currently more politicized than making expert decisions.

He also commented on the topic of the mayors of the DPS-DPS, who are switching to "DPS-New Beginning", emphasizing that the voters who stand behind them will switch to "New Beginning". According to him, the mayors' decision is dictated by the unprecedented pressure and lawsuits with which they are threatened.

In connection with the demographic crisis, the chairman of the Commission on Demographic Policy, Children and Family, Hasan Ademov, pointed out that in each of the districts of Bulgaria the population is decreasing according to national statistics. This is a pan-European problem, but while the population in the EU is aging, in Bulgaria the population is decreasing by nearly 1 million people. The negative demographic growth is 500,000 and these problems in demography affect all spheres of society such as the pension system, public finances, etc.

He is categorical that in order to solve the problem of the demographic crisis, all sectoral policies must be engaged with it.

"The measures that are taken now will have their effect in 20-30 years. It will be difficult to accept unpopular measures such as raising the retirement age. Unstable political majorities can hardly accept strategic long-term decisions. This majority can in no case accept measures to increase the age or to increase the pension insurance contribution," he added.
