Before "BSP - United Left" the question "for" or "against" entering the eurozone has never been a question. The question that we have always put on the table is how we prepare the state for this entry, how we guarantee the protection of people, how we guarantee the protection of the most vulnerable groups. This was stated in the studio of "The Day Begins with Georgi Lyubenov" on BNT by the MP from "BSP - United Left" Atanas Atanasov.
"It is no coincidence that we from "BSP - United Left" stated at the beginning of this mandate that we have a ready package of bills to guarantee the security of Bulgarian citizens. Two things are important - first, that they are properly informed, and not to play on their fears, and that Bulgaria manages to extract all the benefits from this entry into the eurozone. Namely increased investment interest, investments with high added value that will retain and return young people to Bulgaria", Atanasov pointed out.
He also noted that the last few years have been a waste of political time and not only the consequences that are visible on the country's budget and all this timelessness, but this is a wasted time in which citizens were not informed:
"We did not prepare them for this process. And I have always called on the institutions to start this campaign as soon as possible. We at BSP-OL are already organizing a series of meetings and events throughout the country, in which we talk about how to protect ourselves, what measures will be taken and what the advantages will be and how people can benefit from them."
According to Atanas Atanasov, the lack of this information campaign has opened the door very wide for populism and playing on people's fears. He believes that this referendum is impossible.
