Ivaylo Mirchev: PP-DB will request a hearing in parliament on Botas today - 1

The co-chairman of “Yes, Bulgaria“ Ivaylo Mirchev announced from Ruse, where he is visiting together with PP-DB MPs Ivan Belchev and Martin Dimitrov, that the parliamentary group of “We Continue the Change - Democratic Bulgaria“ is submitting a request for a hearing in the National Assembly on the topic “Botas“.

“This is an unheard-of scam worth several billion dollars, the basis of which is the caretaker government of President Radev“, said Mirchev. “One of the reasons Radev is asking for a referendum, apart from launching his political project, is that he has learned that an investigation is underway into the “Botas“ affair, in which there is clear evidence of his role and pressure for Bulgaria to sign an agreement with Turkey“, he also said.

The PP-DB insists that the hearing be held at the earliest possible moment. “We will submit the request today so that Bulgarian society can understand the whole truth - on the one hand about “Botas“, and on the other, to hear Radev's arguments for the euro“, emphasized Ivaylo Mirchev.

According to the co-chairman of “Yes, Bulgaria“, the actions of the head of state are sabotaging the efforts of a number of previous governments and are seriously jeopardizing Bulgaria's future admission to the eurozone. “President Radev's request for a referendum on the euro will significantly weaken the desire of European partners for this convergence report to be positive“, Mirchev pointed out.

He stressed that the PP-DB will do everything possible to protect this process, including with a parliamentary declaration on the subject. “We at the PP-DB will make every effort and work with the other parliamentaryly represented forces to save entry into the eurozone.“
