This is the fastest adopted program in the last 15 years. This was said by Prime Minister Rosen Zhelyazkov when presenting the government's report on what has been done so far. „The government adopted its program for governance for a 4-year period on February 24, but in order to be able to emphasize the more interesting side, I would say that this is the fastest adopted program in the last 15 years - 38 days after the election of the government“, explained Prime Minister Rosen Zhelyazkov.
He emphasized that the agreement on the parliamentary majority is the result of the joint efforts and compromises of the parties. The development of the program was guided by the commitments made to society to improve the quality of life of people, the integration of Bulgaria into the European economic and financial architecture, the construction of a fair justice system, and a favorable environment for economic efficiency.
"There are 100 priorities in our program. As a result of the implementation of the program, 257 defined goals are expected to be realized through the implementation of 710 measures," said Zhelyazkov.
He pointed out that with regard to fiscal policy - the state budget, the treasury budget, and the social security budget were prepared in a short period of time.
„The government sent the National Medium-Term Fiscal and Structural Plan of Bulgaria to the European Commission by February 28. Yesterday, the commission issued a positive assessment of this plan. "This is another step towards fulfilling our commitments for predictable and successful management of public finances," said Zhelyazkov.
