The public transport in Sofia is starting after 6 days of blockades. This decision by trade unions and workers was reached after the state allocated 15 million leva for the four municipal transport companies.
"I am not someone who sits on Borisov's stools, I am the one who has been constantly kicking his ass for 15 years. It will continue like this. We have given our proposals for solving the problem a long time ago. The economic leadership, which appointed the managements of the transport companies, without competition, the majority, which votes whatever it wants and when it wants, does not allow the necessary reform to be made. What happened today further confirms this thesis", said the municipal councilor and leader of "Save Sofia" Boris Bonev in the studio of "Denyat ON AIR".
According to him, people have witnessed a "circus performance" and theater. "GERB and BSP created the crisis through their representatives in the trade union organizations, and now they appear as the ones solving the problem. Three municipal councilors are trade union members and leaders, one of whom is the chairman of the transport unions at the "Podkrepa" CT. Is there anyone in this country who is sane who doesn't understand that this was done with the aim of attacking the Sofia Municipality administration, and this is accompanied by a demand for the mayor's resignation from Richard Alibegov," Bonev added on Bulgaria ON AIR.
According to him, GERB will choose "300 leva per kalpak" and without reforms.
"The accountants, who we calculated to be 69 in the four companies, will receive the same increase as those people who are on the street all day, driving these vehicles in traffic, stressed. Our proposal can be summarized as follows: money for reforms. Today we proposed that the strike be suspended for 10 days, within these 10 days the four pillars of transport management - mayor, municipal council, unions and company managers - sit down and figure out how much the increases will be, how much the administration will be reduced, whether and how the companies will merge", emphasized the municipal councilor.
He insists on understanding what improvement in service passengers will receive after the salary increase.
"Will drivers stop smoking? Will they stop talking on the phone, will they open the ramp for people with reduced mobility to board, will they behave politely with passengers? At least that. In our time, the most large-scale program for the modernization of public transport has been adopted. Those who determine the Sofia Municipality's policy in transport, the transport budget, the management of the companies, are the Sofia Municipal Council, in which we do not have a majority. These managements were elected by GERB, BSP, ITN, Carlos Contrera and breakaways from "Vazrazhdane", Bonev also commented.
The leader of "Save Sofia" is categorical that there is no way to hand out "money to the scoundrel". "This economic framework project, which was accidentally presented today by GERB and BSP, starts with a 70 million leva deficit. This is currently patching up the situation, because this money that Temenuzhka Petkova suddenly found is not guaranteed. It is shocking that the Minister of Finance is so illiterate. She explained that there was no money, the state budget was adopted a month ago, but suddenly a new 15 million leva appeared. "Where did she get them from to give them to Sofia?" Bonev asked.
He explained that if the Deputy Mayor for Finance so wishes, part of the money owed to the waste disposal companies can be paid in order to avoid a suspension of operations.
