The head of state intends to refer the matter to the Constitutional Court, after a request is submitted to the Constitutional Court, then the president's arguments can be commented on. But this will not affect the expected report. This was stated to journalists by the Speaker of the National Assembly Natalia Kiselova, BNT reports. She participated in the celebration of the 105th anniversary of the establishment of the University of National and World Economy in Sofia.
Last week, the head of state Rumen Radev announced that he would refer the matter to the Constitutional Court due to the order of the Speaker of the National Assembly Natalia Kiselova not to allow his request for a referendum to be voted on in the plenary hall.
"The president has the right to make a request to the National Assembly", emphasized Kiselova and stated that she had returned the request as "inadmissible", so "the procedure is clear".
When asked when she last spoke with the head of state, Kiselova replied:
"The last conversation was on May 9 on the occasion of Victory Day and Europe Day."
