Yovo Nikolov: The transport strike was a political punitive action. Borisov cannot accept that he lost Sofia

"It is logical for political parties to wage this fight on the ground, using all kinds of tools. It is a bit like in the jungle - the moment you sense fear, insecurity or weakness from your opponent - you jump on him and try to defeat him. The interesting thing is what will come of this demand", said Prof. Rosen Stoyanov

Yovo Nikolov: The transport strike was a political punitive action. Borisov cannot accept that he lost Sofia - 1

The transport chaos in the capital is over – as of yesterday, Sofia already has a working ground public transport. However, GERB leader Boyko Borisov called on Mayor Vasil Terziev to find a majority in the municipal council or resign.

Professor Rosen Stoyanov and journalist Yovo Nikolov comment on what is happening in the capital on bTV.

„It is logical for political parties to wage this fight on the ground, using all kinds of tools. It is a bit like in the jungle - the moment you sense fear, insecurity or weakness in your opponent - you jump on him and try to defeat him. The interesting thing is what will come of this demand“, said Prof. Stoyanov.

„In my opinion, this is the logical finale of a muddy campaign that was provoked by GERB, the Bulgarian Socialist Party and the economic majority in the Sofia Municipal Council. Borisov admitted that Sofia residents must suffer the change, that is, suffer the election of the mayor from “We continue the change“. This strike somehow appeared out of nowhere. And over the years there has been dissatisfaction with salaries in the capital's public transport, but never have the demands been so arrogantly set. It is arrogant because, by law, the strike is announced one week earlier. They declared civil disobedience, but then let them not receive salaries“, said Yovo Nikolov.
And he was categorical:

“This strike is political, because Borisov cannot come to terms with the fact that he lost Sofia. With the fact that Hekimyan is not mayor. I have no doubts that this was a political punitive action“.
Prof. Stoyanov also agreed with Nikolov's words.

According to the journalist, this was also caused by one of the many sabotage attempts. He gave the example of Varna, where PP-DB also won the local elections and the mayor's office is theirs.

„There is currently a Stalingrad battle there. They don't let Kotsev make a fuss, they took away his powers, what not. This is the GERB majority again“, Nikolov said.

And he explained that the situation in Sofia arose because PP-DB stood “against the thieving majority in the SOS“.
