Over Western and Southern Bulgaria, strong cumulus-rain clouds will develop and in many places there will be short-term, temporarily intense and significant rainfall, with thunderstorms and hail, BTA reported.
The processes in the eastern regions will be less intense. The wind will be from north-northwest, to moderate. During the thunderstorms, it will temporarily intensify and change direction. Maximum temperatures will be mainly between 19° and 24°, in Sofia - 18-19°.
Over the Black Sea coast around and after noon, cumulus and cumulonimbus clouds will develop. In places, there will be short-term rain with thunderstorms. There are also conditions for hail. A light wind will blow, mainly from the northeast. Maximum temperatures will be between 20° and 25°. The temperature of the sea water is from 12° to 16°. The sea wave will be 2 points.
Over the mountains powerful cumulonimbus clouds will develop and in many places there will be short-term, temporarily intense and significant rainfall, with thunderstorms and hail. A moderate, temporarily strong southwest wind will blow. The maximum temperature at an altitude of 1200 meters will be around 18°C, at 2000 meters - around 10°C.
In the coming days, with the passage of a Mediterranean cyclone, it will be cloudy with precipitation. On Sunday, in places in Western and Central Bulgaria, there will be temporarily intense, significant amounts of thunderstorms and hail. The wind will be from the northwest, in Eastern Bulgaria from the north-northeast. Maximum temperatures will be from 10°C-12°C in the western regions to 25°C-26°C in the southeastern regions.
On Monday around and after noon, precipitation will stop from the west, and will continue in the east and will be significant in quantity. The wind throughout the country will be oriented from the northwest and will strengthen. It will be cool for the second half of May with maximum temperatures between 15°C and 20°C. (NIMH)
