„It is possible that some of the people around Dzhevdet Chakarov are surprised by this action of his, but he clearly feels how things are, and he probably received instructions from somewhere above to act like this, we will see later. According to Çnar, the Movement for Rights and Freedoms now has a new father and there are no more resistance forces left in the people around Dogan.
„The person who is now at the helm is called Delyan Slavchev Peevski. He is the factor that determines the role of this party and I believe that in the foreseeable future it will be so. Very often over the years there has been talk of a split in the MRF. If I use business vocabulary, if there have been splits so far, in corporate language I would say that now there is a takeover. So the small DPS will dissolve into the big one and I think things will settle down“, he added.
According to him, Delyan Peevski was underestimated and now Ahmed Dogan is handing over his share to him.
„Dogan has been withdrawing from political life for a year or two and I think he is no longer fit to deal with big politics. He simply does not want to or feels how things are. Even I thought that Peevski would not be able to overthrow Dogan so easily, the experience of the years spoke for itself, but Delyan Peevski was underestimated and decided to lead the herd himself, as the saying goes. Many people underestimated Peevski, including Dogan“, commented Ibrahim Chanar.
According to him, the pressure from „DPS-New Beginning“ in the municipalities is great and fear is being instilled before the elections, especially in the regions with Turkish population.
„We know that Delyan Peevski managed to change quite a few regional governors and mayors. These people now hold the economic levers in these regions and people are forced by the new circumstances and are massively joining „DPS-New Beginning“, which is very ugly. There are party functionaries who make lists and go around saying that if they don't get 1-2 or 10 votes, why are they lost, etc. People are very worried because some of their families are involved in projects that are held in the hands of the mayors“, he pointed out.
In his words, when it comes to businesses and survival, some people sober up, but it is not honorable for them to bend under such circumstances.
