Strict inspections are starting throughout the country against speculation with the prices of basic foods.

"We have been saying for a long time that the regulators should be replaced because their mandate has expired. The previous regulator was not doing anything. But the moment they elected the new one, he started taking measures to think about how to solve the problems of society. This is part of the fight against speculation - currently the producer produces yellow cheese for 16 leva, gives it to the supermarket for 17 leva and he puts a price of 36 leva on the window", said the MP from "BSP-United Left" Gabriel Valkov in "Denyat ON AIR".

He is categorical that there needs to be a ceiling on markups so that there is no speculation with the price of products.

"We are ready to cooperate with the regulators to help with speculation. There are things that have become more expensive. That is why the change of regulators was urgent so that the state could take on its functions. The Consumer Protection Commission is starting inspections throughout the country to find out where the speculation is. They are also proposing draconian measures with fines of 50,000 leva and up," Valkov added to Bulgaria ON AIR. Business cannot make excessive profits on the backs of ordinary people, he was indignant.

"The older members of our sympathizers do not feel that they are ready for the euro because they are used to living in one way. We travel to countries more. Joining the euro brings us closer to the standard of living of developed countries. All these countries, behind the euro, there is a 23 trillion economy that stands behind us", commented the guest. In 2007, Bulgaria accepted that sooner or later it would enter the Eurozone, recalled Valkov.

"More or less all parties are trying to catch a populist thread with people's fears. If we enter the Eurozone, most likely nothing will change. We have to work with the USA, China, and the whole world. There are holes in the budget all over the world. Romania has a 9% budget deficit", explained the MP. In his words, the Sofia Municipality and the Mayor of Sofia Vasil Terziev cannot cope with the management.

"Our long-term policy is for the interest rate on student loans to fall from 7% to 3%. There is no way the bank can earn 3.5 billion. and finally take the money from students who don't have money to study," he pointed out.
